If you are throwing a party in the evening or post dinner, serve plenty of snacks, sandwiches, cookies, cupcakes; muffins, pies cut into pieces, toasted pumpkin seeds, colored and flavored popcorn, cheesy fingers, and dips and fresh veggies cut in different shapes. You could also have filling refreshments like Jack-o-Lantern pizza, caramel apples. You could also prepare Halloween punch by mixing your favorite soda and juice and adding ice molds in different scary shapes. You could serve hot chocolate with eerie eyeballs to the children. Decorate the table with jack-o-lanterns and votive candles or an eerie skull centerpiece or a Halloween candlestand adorned with fall fruits and candles. You can make your own centerpiece or buy them ready made. Use a black lace table cover and an orange velvet table runner. Place all the food and drinks at the table and have a buffet style party. Generously lay out candy and jellybeans in different shapes and sizes along with candy corn and candy pumpkins all over so that the true spirit of Halloween is felt.
