Easy Chinese New Year Menu:

There is a lot more to the fantastic cuisine of Chinese New Year than simple stir-fries. Serve these favourites so guests can have fun rolling them up at the table. Then keep it relaxed - steam some rice, lay out platters of the aubergine, pork and noodles and get everyone to help themselves. Finish with fresh fruit and a pot of Chinese tea.

Chinese Feast:
(Menu for 6)
Bang Bang Chicken
Stir-fried Noodles
Spicy Aubergine
Red Braised Pork
Fresh Fruit
Green Tea

How To Prepare For The Feast:

For Dinner At 8 PM:
The Day Before: Prepare the Bang Bang Chicken. Make the sauce for the aubergine

On The Day:
5:30 pm Prepare all the ingredients for the noodles and pork. Chop aubergine and prepare garnish for chicken.
7:20 pm Put the pork on to cook
8 pm Serve the chicken
8:15 pm Cook the aubergine
8:20 pm Finish off the pork and fry the noodles
8:30 pm Sit down and relax

What To Drink:

Chinese food contains a lot of different spices, so it can be difficult to match wine. Unless it's stir-fried beef, white wine is probably best because it has the acidity (the tingly bite, in other words) to cut through the rich spicy nature of the food.
