Easy Christmas Crafts:

Here are some easy Christmas Crafts which we hope you have fun making and using:

1.Santa Claus Craft:

Materials Needed:
Cardboard wine bottle cover; Cardboard, paper; Cotton wool; Glue; Paints; Felt pens.
Method:
Paint cardboard container red. Cut out cardboard or paper circle for the face. Draw and color in features. Stick face to container. Add cotton wool for the beard and hair. Paint boots, gloves and belt in black paint. Add cotton wool around cuffs. You could always adapt the above to make the three wise men.

2.Reindeer Antlers:

Materials Needed:
Red construction paper; Brown construction paper; Scissors; Stapler;
Method:
Cut a band of red construction paper (about 2-3 inches wide). Measure the length to fit the child's head and then staple at the appropriate length. Using 2 pieces of brown construction paper stacked together, trace one of the child's hands. Then cut out. Separate the hands and then staple each one to the red band towards the front, just a little apart from each other.

3.Hand Shape Wreath:

Materials Needed:
Green construction paper or felt; Pen or pencil to trace hands; Glue; Glitter; Sequins; Ribbons; Other decorations for finished project.
Method:
Trace child's open hand onto paper. (8-10 tracings for a small child) Cut out tracings. Glue tracings together at wrists with fingers pointed out. Decorate with glitter, sequins, ribbons. Write child's name, age, and date made on back.

4.Bead Snowflakes Craft:

Materials Needed:
Florist wire; Glue gun; Glass beads; Cotton yarn.
Method:
Cut florist wire into 3 equal strips. Using a glue gun, glue the 3 strips together to form a star shape. Adult supervision is required when the kids use the glue gun. The other option is that an adult do the first two steps and once the structure of the snowflake is done, the child can add the beads and yarn. Once the glue has set, thread glass beads onto the wire. At the end of each wire after the last bead, bend the wire back to form a loop to stop the beads coming off. To make an inner circle, tie a piece of strong thread to one piece of wire about 3 or 4 beads up from the center. Thread beads onto the thread, winding the thread around each wire arm to keep it in place, tying the threads together to close.

5.Angel Ornament Craft:

Materials Needed:
20" of 4" wide gathered lace; 10" of 1" wide gathered lace; 7/8" round wood bead or turning; Craft hair; 1 square of white felt; Paint - brown or blue for eyes, red for lips; Craft wire; Braided cord; 10" Fishing line or heavy duty clear thread; Hot glue gun.
Method:
Gather 20" piece of 4" wide lace on wire and twist wire together for dress. Hot glue wood bead on top of gathered lace. Gather 10" piece of 1" wide lace on wire for collar, twist closed around base of head. Make wings out of felt in shape of a butterfly. Trim with braided cord around edge. Glue craft hair on the top of the bead. Cut a piece of braided cord to fit top of head (as halo) and glue ends together. Glue on top of hair. Knot piece of fishing line together. Lay on top of wings with the loop above the wings (to use an hanger). Generously glue wings to the back of angel. Paint eyes and mouth on wood bead for face.
