Diwali Aartis / Songs: Any Puja is incomplete without prayer songs or aartis dedicated to the particular Gods and Goddesses. The Diwali puja process includes Aartis to be sung in praise of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu. These aartis are believed to please the Gods and Goddesses who then bestow thier blessings upon us. The whole family gathers for the puja and sings aartis while rotating the diya all around the Deities and ringing the taali (holy bell). Every member of the family takes turn to do the rounds with the diya and ring the bell while singing the traditional aartis. Start with Sri Ganesha Mantra and Aarti. Ganesha Mantra:
