New Year Party Themes:

Theme based New Year parties have become very popular as they ease out a lot of confusion.Type of food to be served, decor are all in arranged with respect to the theme chosen.A little thought and planning will reduce tension and make party preparation much easy. Some popular New Year Themes are:

1.Fondue Party Theme:

If you have limited time you could go for a Fondue Party Theme which requires little preparation. Decorate your home accordingly in a typical Swiss Décor which is typically very colourful and ornate. There are three main types of fondue - melted cheese, melted chocolate, and an Asian hot-pot type where meat is cooked in oil or broth. Choose whichever suits you best and buy your Fondue Pot sets accordingly. You can also do some of the party preparations in advance before your guests arrive. You can slice the meat and chop the cubes of bread, pound cake, or fruit hours before your party. The cheese and chocolate for your sauces can be chopped, grated or cubed in advance too. You should wait until your guests have arrived to heat the ingredients together to avoid over-thickening. You can also accompany the fondue with Swiss Raclettes. Raclette is a type of cheese from Switzerland that is prepared with vegetables on a special raclette grill. Then everyone can relax with a beverage of choice while their individual raclette pans cook. A dry white Swiss wine or rosé goes best with Raclette, though a cool light beer will do too. True connoisseurs recommend tea because it stimulates the digestion. Play Swiss music in honor of the birthplace for this dish.

2.Barbeque Party Theme:

Barbecuing may be an American pastime, but each region has its own unique style. Select a theme and carry it through from decorations to food preparations. For example, if you want to have a Texas-style BBQ, go over the top with rhinestone cowboy accessories and Lone Star décor. If the Deep South is more your speed, hang a tire swing from a sturdy tree branch and serve sweet tea in jelly jars. If you're keeping your barbecue a little more general, a few simple touches can give your backyard a lively atmosphere. The classic red-and-white checkered tablecloths are synonymous with BBQs. You can also line walkways with votives or river stones and drape a little red and white crepe paper along low-lying tree branches. Hanging white twinkle lights on fences or patio railings provides great ambience when the sun begins to set. If there's room, set up a tent or canopy, or encircle a table with netting to create a graceful buffet area. For some added flare, incorporate a fire pit or chiminea, which are perfect for adding light in the evening as well as for roasting marshmallows. Burning pinion pine chips is also particularly effective in repelling mosquitoes and other annoying insects. Ask each guest to wear a bandana.
Food is the centerpiece of any barbecue. Decide what region you’d like to highlight and follow its BBQ preferences.
A.For Kansas City-style, slow cook pork ribs and slather them in a molasses-infused sauce. These ribs pair perfectly with baked beans and creamed corn.
B.In Texas, barbecuing is all about cooking beef brisket over lots of smoke and low heat for hours. Texans tend to skip the sauce (to get the meat’s true flavor) — serve up your meat alongside macaroni and cheese and potato salad.
C.If Carolina-style BBQ is your flavor, roast pork chops in a spicy, vinegar-based sauce and pair them with coleslaw and deviled eggs.
D.For your non-meat-eating guests, your menu should include plenty of grilled veggies. Skewer green and red peppers, eggplant, and zucchini, brush with olive oil and cook them directly on the grill. Wrap corncobs in foil and toss them on as well for corn that is crisp and juicy.
E.Include cocktails and beer.

3.Cocktail Party Theme:

Cocktail parties bring to mind old-school Hollywood movies, so play up the retro theme with soft candlelight and black-and-white decorations with silver accents. You want your guests on their feet and mingling, so push couches back to the wall or move them from the room to create more space to mill. If your room allows it, create small sitting areas where guests can break off and engage in small, private convos. Small side tables placed around the room give guests a handy spot to park their drink, and carefully placed blank matchbooks and pens encourage bar-style romance and sharing of digits. Set up a bar area and keep it well stocked with booze, juices, mixers, ice, fruit and olive garnishes, assorted glassware, groovy drink stirrers and cocktail napkins. And don't forget cocktail recipe books to spark liquid creativity. If you don't want to stock a full bar, buy a few favorite liquors and mixers and print out a fancy menu of drink options with the title "Specialties of the House." Almonds have a natural talent for recipes. They add instant flavor and appeal to every dish from spicy appetizers to savory entrees. Always serve food, especially high protein foods, which slow the rate at which the body absorbs alcohol. Supply non-alcoholic beverages for your guests too. Stop serving alcohol about one hour before the party is scheduled to end. Emphasize non-alcoholic drinks and high protein food toward the end of the party - only TIME can help someone sober up. If a guest has over-indulged, TAKE the car keys away, call a cab or have a non-drinking guest drive him/her home.
