New Year Party Themes(Contd.):

6.Fancy Dress Party:

Incorporating classic dress-up accessories like masks, hats and feather boas into your party decorations adds both a festive and practical touch to your fancy dress theme party. Hang ornate face masks and sparkly top hats on your walls, and drape colorful boas and leis over floor lamps and doorknobs and around banisters. Setting up a vanity table in the bathroom with costume makeup and some crazy wigs will also help your guests get in the spirit of the party. And be sure to leave out bowls filled with disposable cameras in the party room so your guests can commemorate the occasion with photos.
A costume contest is the standard activity at a costume party. You can spice yours up by setting up a stage (or just a rug, if you're on a budget) and having your guests walk the runway to be judged for the contest. Before they strut their stuff, have your guests write down a description of themselves and their costume.
Whatever your costume, keep your food easy to eat: Cut cheese and crudités into small pieces so guests wearing masks can nibble them easily, and stay away from messy foods like dip that can ruin an expensive costume.
Vodka, rum could accompany the food, and soda for non–alcoholic guests.

7.Dance Party Theme:

Parties without dance are soured up. Everybody enjoys the party by dancing and drinking. Dance themes can be organized. There can be a couple dance, mat dance or the dance representing one's the culture. If you’re having a dance party, games that will get your guests up and moving are an absolute must. Throwing a few games into proceedings encourages everyone to get involved without feeling self-conscious, and can really make the event more enjoyable.

8.Colour Specific Party Themes:

You can also go in for colour specific decorations, Co-ordinated “mylar” curtains, “Mylar" chandeliers can be hung from the ceiling and matching helium balloons fill area with color. Centerpieces can be simple helium bouquets, have the romance of traditional candlelight. Gold, black and white always looks sophisticated, but red is a very popular colour for New Year parties. Ask all your guests to wear red or any other colour depending upon your colour theme.

9.Traditional Theme Party:

: If you do not have any time to organize a special theme for your party, you can simply go in for a traditional theme, where each guest need only to appear in their traditional best. The décor can also be traditional with flowers and candles, and wall hangings.

10.Casino Theme Party:

Think red and black, and especially green! Decorate your place with fake money, chips and cards. Turn the lights down low and string twinkly lights everywhere to create mood. Provide each of your guests with little buckets for their winnings. To keep people circulating, give everyone a score card that keeps tracks of how many games they've tried -- this will insure that everyone's interacting. Cover tables with black felt and use a white paint marker to draw blackjack, craps, and baccarat lines, or buy premade game layouts. You should have a rule book handy in case there are any disputes, but don't forget this old adage: the house always wins! Attire clould be Tuxedoes & suits for the gents, sparkly attire for the ladies. When you think casino, you generally think drinks and lots of them, but don't forget to fortify people's stomachs with some good food! If your casino leans more towards the highbrow, bring out the chafing dish and serve Swedish meatballs or warm crab and artichoke dip. Or stoke your guests' appetites with spicy foods like wings, chips with charred corn salsa and tangy tomato bruschette. Hand out plenty of cocktail napkins so that hands, cards and tables stay clean. Champagne cocktail drinks would best enhance such party mood.
