The combination of dramatic rugged cliffs on the West End and miles of pristine white sand beach with crystal clear water can be found nowhere else on the island. Neither is there anywhere in Jamaica that’s as laid back. Negril is dubbed the “Capital of Casual” as Negrilians carry out business and pleasure efficiently with the least amount of formality. Negril is the perfect place to spend your beach vacations. Things To Do / See:  A.Visit Negril Lighthouse:
Perhaps the most distinctive landmark in Negril. Built in 1894, it was originally operated by kerosene. It is also the highest structure in Negril and towers 100 feet above sea level.
 B.Water Sports:
Jet-skiing, Parasailaing, swimming and scuba diving are very popular water activities. South of downtown Negril is West End Road, known as the cliff area, which is lined with resorts that offer more privacy. These areas offer easy access to waters good for snorkeling and diving, with jumping points reaching more than 40 feet high. You can also go for boat tours in glass bottomed boats or banana shaped boats. The banana shaped rafts are towed by speed boats. The ride lasts a few minutes and is a great fun. The glass bottom boats are also great. The glass at the bottom of these boats is a good way to observe the underwater life in Negril's bay without getting wet. Negril is also an exceptional destination to go sport fishing. Fishing trips are offered on the beach. The Negril Yacht Club, located on the Lighthouse Road in Negril is the single-stop location for water sports. It offers kayak and snorkel rentals with some of the best snorkeling in town. Daily sunset and nude cruises are available as well as water taxi to the beach and glass bottom boat tours. Deep sea fishing charters run from the Yacht Club as well. 957-9224
In Westend Ricky’s Café is a great place to be. The cliffs in front of the cafe are a perfect site to go for a swim.  C.Beach Activities:
Walking along the beach and taking in the breathtaking view and enjoying the feel of the cool sand on your feet is a much recommended beach activity. The 7 miles long beach gives you ample space and when tired you can sit with a cool refreshing drink from the beach restaurants and watch the azure blue water lapping the shore. You can also lie in the thatch huts or laze on the chairs or go for a refreshing swim. Negril’s Long Bay Beach is famous for its parties. It is difficult to get bored in Negril.You can always attend these parties and have free beer and join in the contests that are being held.  D.Tours Of Negril:
The Negril Yacht Club offers a relaxing day-trip to Little Bay and a more extended trip to the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston. Custom tours are also available, 957-9224
You can visit The Boby Cay island. This small island lies half a mile from Rutland Point. Resorts in the area organize boat tours to the island. The island is great for snorkeling and for bird watching. Another recommended excursion from Negril is the great morass. This swamp is 10 miles long and 2 miles wide. In its tea color waters crocodiles can be seen. North of Rutland Point is another nice beach, Bloody Bay. North of this beach there are some good places to snorkel. A bit farther away is Roaring River. Rent a bike and see this natural wonder.
Ja-Ja Originals, a Studio and art gallery is located at Coco La Palm Resort on Norman Manley Boulevard has a unique selection of paintings, sculptures, carvings and hand-crafted jewelry designed by talented Jamaican artists.
South of Negril river rises a rocky plateau. This area is known as West End. You will not find beaches here, but you will find some nice rocks by the cliff where you can lay. Its waters are amazingly blue. There are several coves, and the coast is good for swimming and snorkeling.  E.Romantic Dinners:
Jerk Chicken along with rice and beans is the most popular meals in Negril. Lobster used to be one of the most successful meals among tourists.
Kuyaba is one of Negril's finest and most romantic restaurants with a reputation for superb food. Located right by the sea, it offers complete beach services and is a great place to spend your days swimming and sunning. Architecturally beautiful, with waterfalls, tropical foliage, exotic birds and even more exotic drinks, it is a place you shouldn't miss. Xtabi's restaurant perches high on the cliff overlooking the bay. A pleasant spot at any time, it must rank as one of the most romantic spots in Jamaica by candlelight, especially on those nights when the full moon sparkles in the waters of the bay. Seafood is their speciality and the fish is caught daily. 957-4336.
Margueritaville Negril located on the beach on Norman Manley Boulevard claims the title of Negril's hippest party bar. A day of fun includes bouncing around on the giant water trampoline, lounging in waterside sky chairs and sipping one of the 52 tropical flavours of margueritas. The delicious all-day menu includes burgers, fajitas, grilled specialities and authentic local fare. You haven't experienced Negril if you haven't experienced Margueritaville. 957-4467.  F.Belvedere Estate:
Belvedere is a family-owned estate set on one thousand acres a short distance from Negril. It was one of the first sugar cane plantations in Jamaica and is still a working estate. The owner, Mr. Pat McGann, has opened it up so that visitors can share the natural beauty of its rivers and waterfalls, its ruins and exotic plants and birds. Call 952-6001. For horseback riding, expert guides will ensure your mount is right for you whether you are a novice or an experienced rider. A two-hour ride takes you through banana and coconut groves and high into the hills. Crocodile watching is a highlight of the tour. Thanks to its location on the northwest of the island, Negril's sunsets are amazingly beautiful. Every afternoon around 6/7 pm, you can see how the suns sets behind the blue waters of the Caribbean. Many tourists go to the beach a few minutes before dusk to enjoy this free show. Every day the sun set is different. When there are clouds on the horizon, the show is even lovelier. Sun sets are (probably) more beautiful on the cliffs in West End. In West End you will find many restaurants, bars, pubs and cafes. The most famous of them is Rick's Cafe. Its terrace is the perfect setting to watch one of Negril's unforgettable sun sets.  I.Nearby Attractions:
Mayfield Falls and Mineral Springs is Jamaica's #1 eco-tourism attraction, featuring two waterfalls and twenty-one natural pools. YS Falls located in St. Elizabeth, about one hour from Negril, features three mail waterfalls, caves and the famous rope swing. Dunn's River Falls, the most well known waterfalls in Jamaica, is located in Ocho Rios about two and a half hours from Negril. Not far from Dunn’s River Falls is the Dolphin Cove which is the only place in Jamaica where you can swim and interact with bottlenose dolphins ( imported from Mexico ). There are five scheduled interactions with a trained professional per day and it is advised that you book in advance. Black River, Treasure Beach, and the world-famous Lover's Leap are all located in St. Elizabeth, about one hour from Negril. How To Get To Negril Beach, Jamaica:  By Air:
International Flights arrive and depart at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. Take a 15 - 20 minute air flight from Sangster International Airport to Negril and take a Taxi to your accommodations in the Negril area. Downtown Negril is 7 - 8 miles away from the Negril Airport via the Norman Manley Boulevard where many of the super clubs resorts and other lodging accommodations are located.
Have a Taxi / Rental Car pick you up at Sangster International Airport and drive you to your accommodations in the Negril area. Approximate driving time to Negril: 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours driving time depending upon traffic. It is a beautiful ride with great scenery and a good road.
