3.Valentine’s Day Gifts For Parents:

These days, Valentine's Day is essentially regarded as festival that celebrates love between individuals and not just lovers. People therefore wish ‘Happy Valentine's Day' to parents, teachers, siblings, friends or any other person special to them. So let you kid’s imagination fly high and allow them to make you a few simple Valentine’s Day gifts.

Valentine’s Day gifts For Father:

i.Valentine Rose Pen:
Materials Needed:
Oval shaped Styrofoam ball; Clay pot; Artificial rose; Ball point pen; Scissors; Knife; Glue; Green floral tape; 6 inches red ribbon (1/8 inch thick); Craft moss;
Method:
Cut a small tip off the Styrofoam ball with the knife. Push the ball into the clay pot and flat down at the end. Make a hole into the Styrofoam ball, slightly larger than the pen. The hole will serve to hold the upright pen later on. Use the scissors to force or cut the cap off the pen. Be careful not to cut into the ink barrel. Pull the rose off its stem. Insert the remaining stem into the top of the pen. Wrap the pen with the floral tape. Insert your flower pen into the Styrofoam hole far enough to hold it upright. Place the moss inside the clay pot, covering the Styrofoam ball. Tie the red ribbon into a bow underneath the flower.

ii.Valentine Card Holder:
Materials Needed:
1 and 1/2 paper plates; Hole punch; Tape; Stapler, optional; Ribbon or yarn in red, white, or pink; Stickers; Paints, markers, or crayons; Construction paper; Lace, eyelet, or ribbons; Tacky craft glue; Old Valentines cards;
Method:
Cut one of the paper plates in half. Each card holder is made with 1 paper plate on the back, and 1/2 of a paper plate on the lower front - making a pocket to put the cards into. Decorate the plates. You'll be decorating the inside of the whole plate, and the backside (underside) of the half plate. Any of a variety of methods can be used to decorate the plates, this is a great place for creativity to shine. Let glue and paint dry before proceeding. Attach the plates together with a couple staples. Then punch holes around the plate to thread the ribbon/yarn through. Cut the ribbon at a slant on the end to keep it from unraveling. Wrap a bit of tape around the end of the yarn or ribbon to help make a 'needle' for lacing. Lace the plates together, and tie a loop at the top for hanging. If lacing the plates together is too challenging, they can just be stapled together. (Lacing is a good activity for young children, but might require more help, time and supervision than is available).

iii.Homemade Valentine’s Day Cards:
Materials Needed:
8.5 x 11 construction paper or card stock in various colors and/or patterns; Valentine and/or heart stickers; scissors; pinking shears (optional); glue stick or white craft or school glue; glitter (pink, red, white);
Method:
Begin by cutting a piece of construction paper or card stock into four equal pieces. Fold quartered paper in half to make a card. For the easiest version, appropriate for preschoolers, use stickers to decorate or cut out hearts from a different color of construction paper or card stock to glue onto your cards. Experiment with different patterns, florals look great contrasted with stripes on a solid background. Younger children love glitter! Use a bottle of glue to “draw” on a heart or phrase (such as “Be Mine”). Sprinkle glue generously with pink, red or white glitter and let dry over night. Tap off excess glitter when completely dry. For the older set, let them use pinking sheers to cut out heart shapes and glue onto cards. Again, use contrasting patterns and colors to create a charming design. Once glue is dry, cards may curl up a little. Place cards between the pages of a heavy cookbook or phone book and leave over night.
Tips: Finding the perfect paper. Card stock is available in literally hundreds of different designs. The scrap-booking aisle at your local craft store has individual sheets or pads of various colors and patterns. Caution, these papers can get costly, watch for sales or purchase these papers with other projects in mind as well. Construction paper is inexpensive and children love it just as much.

iv.Valentine Envelopes:
Materials Needed:
Scissors; Glue; Pencil; Wrapping or any paper with beautiful designs; Envelope; Valentine symbol stickers;
Method:
Take an envelope to be used as a pattern for Valentine envelope. Place the paper you choose to design your new envelope on the table and put the pattern on top of it. Trace an outline with a pencil. Cut out the paper in the same shape of the pattern envelope, glue ends together. Decorate the envelope with valentine symbols sticker to give it a special feel. Leave the top open and insert a Valentine card. Seal the top of the envelope with a sticker or glue.

v.Heart Bookmarker:
Materials Needed:
Jumbo Craft Sticks; White, Pink Craft Foam; Hole Punch; Scissors; Pinking Shears; Craft Glue; Black Bold-tip Permanent Marker;
Method:
Cut two large hearts from pink craft foam. Punch holes evenly spaced through one heart. Punch holes from white craft foam and insert into openings of pink craftfoam. Glue craft stick bettween hearts. Cut a 1/2"x8" strip from white craft foam; formstrip into a bow. Cut a dime sixed circle from pink craft foam and glue to center of bow. Glue bow to 'neckline' of craft stick.
