Choose an appropriate theme depending upon the age group for whom the party is being thrown…… kids, teenagers, adults, office-goers, friends. Valentine's Day Party Themes For Kids: Kids parties can ideally be held at home, or at school or in a pizza outlet or on the terrace or lawn. Plan on having your party for 1 - 2 hours. Send invitations two weeks in advance. We always suggest a minimum of two games and one activity. Plan for some alternate activities if needed. 1.Red Hearts Party: Decorate your party venue with red heart balloons and heart cutouts. Put a red balloon arch over your front door as an extra fun entryway (use red 11" or 14" latex balloons or Mylar hearts). Hang ribbons down from each balloon to make it more festive. If all of the kids don't know each other, write their names on a heart sticker as they arrive, and let them wear it all day. Use Heart Tableware and a Heart Tablecloth to cover your table and keep with the theme. Also, there are plastic heart shaped lights, which can be hung just about anywhere. Keep plenty of prizes handy. Heart shaped Candy can be used as the take home favors, put in decorative cups, and can be put at each place setting. Games can be: A.Toss The Heart Ring: Create heart rings and have the children toss them. Those who can toss a ring three times on the target item gets a prize. B.Blow Hearts: Have the children blow heart shaped balloons. One who blows the maximum number of balloons get a chance to win a gift. Create A Heart Wreath: Ask the children to cutout heart shapes and create a wreath of a specified width and diameter. One who creates first gets a prize. 2.Fairy Tale Party: Ask all children to dress as fairy tale characters. Keep the decorations also fairytale like with draping curtains, candles, flowers, fairy and gnome cutouts pasted in nooks and corners. You can further divide the characters into teams and ask them to enact a little play. This however requires prior planning and practice. A.Identify a Character: Divide the group into two teams. Each child from each team has to act like a fairy tale character without speaking(as in Dumb Charade). The opposite team have to identify the character. A point for every correct identification. The highest scorers get a jar of Valentines Candy. B.Search for Cinderella’s shoe: You can hide Cinderellas shoe in a secret place and have everyone search for it. One who finds it first gets a prize. 3.Creative Valentines Party: Throw a Creative Valentine Party where each child can decorate His / Her Valentine Box in which they can receive and carry Valentines to and from school, and either buys or creates Valentines to give to each member of their class. You can use everyday household items like tin foil, cotton balls and anything red that they can get their hands on (or you can buy an inexpensive craft kit for each with more than 50 items). Have a contest to see who can be the most creative. Try minimal decorations with heart shaped balloons and ensure that you have lots of open space for the children to work. Move out furniture to create space. Keep homemade candy as party favors and keep yo-yos and stuffed animal toys as gifts for the most creative, fastest decorator etc. 4.Valentine’s Day Cookie Party: Have your kids invite their special friends and help them bake and decorate their Valentine’s Day cookies for their classmates. Make colorful frostings in Valentines Day colors of red, pink, purple and white and decorate the cookies as you please. When done wrap them up in small jars with lids and tie them up with ribbons and give them as gifts to your special friends. 5.Family Dance Party: You can have the entire family together and dance to music.
