Cairo ( Al Qahira ) is the capital city of the Egypt and is the seventeenth most inhabited metropolitan city in the world also being the most populated metropolis in Africa, as well as a major port to the south of the Nile Delta. Cairo is a Historical field of Human history and occupation , it is a delectable view of historical sights and monuments ranging from pyramids to Islamic architecture and Egyptian antiquities museum ,some of the world's first stone monuments were created in the areas along with Cairo and many pharaonic sites .  Geographical Location:
Cairo is located on the banks and islands of the Nile River in the north of Egypt, immediately south of the point where the river leaves its desert-bound valley and breaks into two branches into the low-lying Nile Delta region. The oldest part of the city is east of the river. The city gradually spreads west, engulfing the agricultural lands next to the Nile. Cairo falls between the Upper and Lower portion of the river Nile. Upper portion of the Nile extends from south of Cairo to the Sudanese border, the lower portion begins from the north of Cairo and comprises of the Nile Delta. The river has influenced the developemnt of the city both economically and physically. Cairo city is basically divided into old Cairo and New Cairo. These western areas, built on the model of Paris by Khedive Ismail in the mid-19th century, are marked by wide boulevards, public gardens, and open spaces. The older eastern section of the city is very different: having grown up haphazardly over the centuries, it is filled with small lanes and crowded tenements. While western Cairo is dominated by tater government buildings and modern architecture, the eastern half is filled with hundreds of ancient mosques. Cairo has a diverse topography, with deserts and plateus being the most dominant.
