When shopping in on the islands of the Canarian archipelago it is easy to bargain for the electrical goods, cameras, jewellery, perfume, tobacco and spirits. Some of the handicrafts of interest for many tourists are open-work and embroidery, pottery, rugs, woodcarvings and basket-work based on palm leaves, cane and reed. The Items that are bought in the Canary Islands are much cheaper than what is in the country of origin , with a range of items that have a wide gamut of selection right from Nigerian crocodile skin, ivory carved from the Ganges to real Chinese silk, some of rarest objects can be found in the Canary Islands. The Cuban-style cigars are a speciality of La Palma nad are highly regarded along with Canarian mojo sauces which are found in many variations and served with various dishes, potato , fish , vegetables etc.... Large shopping centers are open through out the day including Sundays whereas the local markets and shops normally function on weekdays from 9 am to1 pm and then again 4 pm to 8 pm .
