imageVisa Specifications For The Canary Islands / Spain:
Documentation / Visa Specifications: American Citizens are allowed to stay for a maximum of 90 days in the canary Islands without a visa. People travelling from the following countries must present a valid passport, after which they are allowed a maximum period of stay for 90 days Monaco, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, Republic of Korea, San Marino, the Vatican, Singapore, Uruguay or Venezuela. Citizens from EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, require a valid passport or an ID card, Children under the age of 16 can include their names on the passports of their father, mother or a guardian and nationals who are travelling with an ID card require documents to show that they are authorized by the parents. Those people travelling from other countries, must apply for a visa from their town or city or place of residence, also stating the reason to visit Spain .A valid passport will have to be presented along with other documents such as regarding the accommodation and tour itinerary, a conformation of the booking along with a return ticket, or an invitation from a third party. Furthermore most importantly one must also prove that he/she has sufficient funds to support himself/herself for their stay in the country of Spain. Travellers entering Spain by the means of a car need to have a driving license.
Motor Insurance: All citizens of an EU member state, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Andorra or Croatia, need to carry an insurance policy document along with a payment receipt showing the validity of the policy. Travellers entering Spain from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Byelorussia, Israel, Iran, ldavia, Morocco, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Tunisia, Turkey or the Ukraine, will need to get a Green Card - the International Motor Insurance Certificate. Visitors from another country not mentioned above, will have to take out a Frontier Insurance policy (a temporary, obligatory, third party policy for motor vehicles).

In Spain a special "sailing license is required , for those who would like to sail on plain sailing boats more than 5 meters long and for motor boats more than 4 meters long. Those visitors who would like to sail on their own boats,must show valid documents from their country, with the flag shown on it, along with showing proof of officership with an insurance covering 150,000 thousand euros. The entry of the vessel is subjected to maritime safety , which can otherwise be prohibited from entering the port. In order to rent a boat a sailing license has to be presented , from the home country of the visitor either in person or through the boat rental company,where the guidelines of the license should match the guidelines of Spain,For those who do not have a license can apply for an equivalent of one from the maritime authority. The documentation of the sailing vessel is provided for by the boat hire company. High Speed boats are subject to control by the authorities, and communication regarding the navigation is a must with EAV mark being visible in the air and moor in certain locations as well.

imageCarrying Goods into Spain:
According to European Commission regulations, travellers are not allowed to carry food of animal origin into the European Union for example (meats, meat products, milk and dairy products). However the only exceptions to this are commercially-packaged powdered milk for children, and special foodstuffs required for medical conditions. Other food items can be brought into Spain up to a maximum weight of one kilogram. Any amount of products can be bought and taken out of the country by travellers for personal use but , it is however prohibited to carry certain items while entering the country .Certain baggage that has been brought in as personal goods are checked by the customs to certify that it is not taken in as commercial goods , however what does determine the factor is the amount that is being carried in, that will qualify the baggage as commercial or personal. Adults from the age of eighteen are allowed to carry in 200 cigarettes, 100 mini cigars or 50 regular cigars , 250 grams of rolling tobacco, alcohol that is 22% in volume contained in a drink that 1 litre in amount, The perfume being carried by travellers cannot exceed 50 gms in quantity, with the eau de toillette not exceeding 0.25 gms in quantity.
